Free team-based MOBA game

Pokémon UNITE is a free-to-start team battle strategy game, which The Pokémon Company and TiMi Studios came together to create. In this game, players face off against one another in five-on-five team battles. Your goal is to defeat your opponent’s Pokémons by working on each other’s strengths and maximizing your own skills.

This will allow you to collect wild Pokémon, evolve your own Pokémon, and level up your rank. While the mechanics of Pokémon UNITE are simple, expect to unpack its intricacies as you progress through the game. Another Pokémon game that you can try is Monster Duel.

How do you play Pokémon UNITE?

Pokémon UNITE is a multiplayer online battle arena video game that supports cross-platform play. Compared to Call of Duty Mobile and Arena of Valor, the interface of this team-based play appears more straightforward. This makes it suitable for newcomers in the MOBA genre. The developers have also made changes to the gameplay. All matches consist of two teams of five who are pitted against each other on a map split into halves. Each side has several, random control points that must be used to score a goal.

Throughout these real-time battles, your own Pokémon will level up and learn new moves. Every Pokémon has its own unique UNITE move. You can find all types of Pokémon on the select screen, including Pikachu, Snorlax, Charizard, and Lucario. Bear in mind that Pokémon quest-type advantages are not included which means players can engage using a point-based system. The team that scores the highest points is declared the winner. To up the ante, all goals scored in the last 60 seconds are multiplied by two.

Which is the best Pokémon in Pokémon UNITE?

As this battle game requires you to be strategic, referring to a Pokémon UNITE tier list will help you decide the best Pokémon to have in your team. The Pokémons in the game are divided into five categories: All-Rounder, Attacker, Defender, Speedster, and Supporter. Pokémons that are in the All-Rounder tier list showcase a close balance of offense and endurance which makes them reliable fighters. The Attacker types have low endurance but they can cause strong damage to their opponents.

As its name suggests, Pokémons under the Defender category are conceived to protect their fellow teammates from attacks. High mobility and offense stats are the outstanding characteristics of pokémons in Speedster. They will aid you in quickly defeating wild pokémons and scoring goals. Meanwhile, Supporters can assist their teammates by healing allies and attacking opponents using status conditions. Each category has its first-rate Pokémon. For instance, many players consider Lucario as the finest All-Rounder. Cramorant for Attacker, Blastoise for Defender, Zeraora for Speedster, and Blissey for Supporter.

Also, the roster keeps expanding with three additional Pokémons ready to disrupt the battlefield and have trainers searching their Pokédex. Miraidon, the electric/dragon legendary from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, leads the charge with its shocking mobility and long-range attacks. Falinks, the unique five-in-one fighting force from Pokémon Sword and Shield, marches in, delivering a cohesive and strategic play style. Rounding out the update is Ceruledge, the fiery fire/ghost type from the same installment as Miraidon, whose potent attacks and close-combat prowess promise a thrilling addition.

Frequent maintenance updates

One thing that keeps a game going is having periodic updates, and that's what Pokémon UNITE delivers. Game updates happen every few weeks, which include not just bug fixes, but also event and gameplay upgrades. Improved HP regenerations, Pokémon buffers, stealth improvements, and more can be enjoyed by every user after every maintenance service. Plus, each update is comprehensive and ultimately brings challenging matches, which are then paired with seasonal events and tournaments. You can check out these special events through the developer's dedicated social media accounts for the game.

Pokémon game for all

Pokémon UNITE is a simple yet high-octane game that anyone can play. You do not need any prior experience in playing older Pokémon titles or even be familiar with Pokémon types. The game also generously rewards every user for just playing, more so for those who are consistently winning matches. It's a platform for all players—regardless of fandom or user level—to engage in.
